Duty Description:Weapons Squad Leader in a Light Infantry platoon; responsible for the maintenance and accountability of his squad's equipment valued in excess of $750,000; responsible for the collective training, health, welfare and professional development of nine soldiers; assisted the platoon leader in planning and preparing for combat, redeployment, and training operations.


Echelon: Air Assault Infantry Rifle Company/Air Assault Infantry Battalion

Principle Duty Title:Squad Leader

Duty MOSC: 11B3O

Duty Description:Squad leader assigned to a forward deployed Air Assault Infantry Rifle Company executing combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; responsible for the maintenance and accountability of all squad equipment and one M1114 up-armored HMMWV deployed to Iraq with all organic BII valued in excess of $250,000.00 dollars; responsible for the health, welfare, morale and professional development of nine soldiers; assists the platoon leader in planning and preparing for combat missions.

Principle Duty Title: Infantry Platoon Sergeant

Duty MOSC: 11B4O

Duty Description: Platoon Sergeant of a 39 man Light Infantry Platoon with a go to war mission in support of U.S. National Policy for world wide contingencies, conducting full spectrum operations; assists the Platoon Leader with training plans, instruction and coordination; maintains combat readiness for deployment anywhere in the world; responsible for accountability, serviceability and maintenance of platoon equipment valued at over $1,000,000.

Principle Duty Title: Scout Platoon Sergeant

Duty MOSC: 11B4V

Duty Description: Scout platoon sergeant in a light infantry battalion; responsible for the welfare, fitness, morale, and discipline of 35 Soldiers; responsible for planning and executing their individual and collective training and maintenance of their equipment; primary instructor and advisor in tactics, personal management and leadership development; supervises the tactical deployment of the sniper and scout section in offensive and defensive operation; responsible for $500,000 worth of platoon equipment.
