Possible topics to discuss during counseling:

  • Soldier’s responsibility to maintain standards/good order and discipline.
  • Date of incident.
  • Brief summary of events.
  • Article of the Uniform Code of Military Justice that was violated
  • Differences between lawful and unlawful orders
  • Appropriate action to take when disagreeing with an order
  • Appropriate way to address and show respect to Noncommissioned Officers
  • Possible consequences of continued misbehavior
  • Soldier’s and counselor’s signatures.

Possible Plan of Action:

  • Provide class to Platoon/Section on Proper Military and Professional Bearing, Order Discipline, and Respect
  • Provide class outline for review prior to execution
  • Class is not punishment, but corrective training aimed at gaining a greater understanding of military leadership attributes
  • Importance of Respect
  • Military and Professional bearing
  • Emotional attributes and self-control

Possible Leader Responsibilities:

  • Provide applicable Field Manuals and Army Regulations for research and study
  • Review and approved class outline prior to class execution
  • Condcut Assessments and mentorship on a weekly basis until problem is corrected.
